Quest is a youth group comprised of youth from United Presbyterian Church, Washington Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian of Pekin, and any other youth who want to join us. Quest meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 5:00-7:00 P.M. for youth in grades 5-12. We play games, sing songs, laugh at skits, eat snacks, and have honest discussions. Quest has several special events throughout the year and fundraisers to help raise money for trips. This year’s theme is “It is Something To Us” and will culminate in a week-long mission trip this summer. You can watch lots of Quest videos at our YouTube page by click HERE.

MUSIC Music is an important way to interact as a group, express yourself, and praise God. We sing songs at every meeting and ask the youth to suggest songs they’d like to sing. We sing everything from the Beatles to Owl City to contemporary worship songs by Chris Tomlin and Need to Breathe. We also write several original songs that go with our themes for the year and special trips. We’ll be having Quest Choir rehearsal this year to learn new songs and how to sing together so we can perform during church services and on mission trips.

SKITS Each Quest meeting has a skit performed by leaders. Sometimes the skits are pre-recorded and shown on video and sometimes they are performed live at meetings. Skits range from classic Saturday Night Live skits to skits that youth groups and camps have been performing for decades. We even write some original skits and create original characters. Youth participate in skits during fundraisers throughout the year as well. You can watch some examples of skits performed at Quest:

GAMES Each week at Quest we play games! We play outrageous games, thinking games, active games, funny games, games that involve everyone, and some games where a few people are invited up to compete for prizes while everyone else gets to cheer, laugh, and watch. We play team games and individual games. We play games that require lots of movement and some that require lots of thinking. We play classic youth group games and we play brand new games never played before. The games always have a point, but the points aren't always so obvious.

Meetings Quest regularly meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month at United Presbyterian from 5:00-7:00 P.M. The meetings usually begin with a game that involves the whole group. The games help youth get to know each other and build energy. After a game we’ll sing a song, typically one youth are familiar with from the radio. We then bring up a few youth to play an up-front game for a chance to win a prize. Leaders perform skits and often run-on characters introduce new games to play. We always have snack and sing a worship song before we have a Biblical discussion.
