UPC Lenten Concert SeriesOur Lenten Concert Series is back for another great year of presentations. These concerts run every Sunday during Lent at 5:00 pm and are followed by a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm. A free-will offering is accepted at each performance. This year's line-up is sure to please music-lovers of all ages and give anyone something they can really enjoy. Our concert line-up is as follows: Anna and Joshua Russell, Piano on Feb. 21This piano duo have become favorites of our congregation over the past several years. Come and enjoy their passionate and energetic performance of both sacred and secular music that is sure to please. All funds from this evening's offering will be used to aid in the reconstruction of the Holy Trinity Music School in Port au Prince, Haiti. one way up on Feb. 28one way up is our contemporary worship ensemble at United Presbyterian. Come and join in as one way up sings and plays to the glory of God. Feel free to sing along or simply listen as we praise the Lord together. Linden Christ, Soprano on Mar. 7 This wonderful young soprano returns to United Presbyterian this spring with another engaging performance. Christ completed her Master's Degree in vocal performance and musicology from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Linden has sung many venues both in the United States and abroad and maintains an active performing and directing schedule. UPC Broadway Night on Mar. 14United Presbyterian Church is a congregation that is full of talent. Come and enjoy as you watch members of UPC perform pieces from some of history's great Broadway musicals Acaharmodies! Choral Ensemble on Mar. 21Acaharmodies! is a new force in the Central Illinois chorale scene. Drawing together a diverse group of young vocalists, this ensemble is sure to please with its polish, energy, and artistic excellence. ICC Jazz Band on Mar. 28This jazz ensemble from Illinois Central College is under the direction of Larry Harms and is sure to entertain with a broad variety of pieces from all forms of the jazz idiom. This is one high-energy performance you won't want to miss. |
