Mission isn't just a committee at UPC, it is who we are. We make sure mission giving is at least 10% of our budget and we donate funds to several local organizations such as Common Place, Friendship House, Southside Mission, Food Pantries, Peoria Children's Home, and more. Mission, however, is not just writing checks. We host several groups at UPC like OSF's bereavement groups. In the past year over 900 people got support through OSF at UPC. We also host practices for youth basketball teams who have no other place to go, sponsor a Boy Scout troop, have a SHARE food program, and so much more. We are always looking for ways we can serve others locally, nationally, and globally.

Newspapers In Education
United Presbyterian Church is partnering with the Peoria Journal Star, as part of its “Newspapers in Education” program, to provide newspapers to the classes of Northmoor Edison Elementary School for the entire year. The total cost, covered by the Christian Education Committee, was $250. This is a wonderful way for UPC to promote education, literacy, and knowledge of current events in our community. |
Food Pantry Donations
UPC supports local food panties that provide assistance to hundreds of local families every week. During these hard times the need has grown to record levels. Your participation in this ministry is vital. Donations can be brought to the church and placed in the designated area opposite the church office suite. Any canned, bagged, bottled, or boxed food item is greatly appreciated. You can also callect and donate unopened hotel 'amenities' or bring in personal care items like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and more. |
