Each summer UPC hosts a week of Vacation Bible School during the evenings in July. We invite children from all over Peoria and surrounding towns to participate in a fun-filled and educational week. We transform the church and the Fellowship Hall to whatever the theme of VBS is for that year to immerse the children in the VBS experience. Children participate in small group discussions, science experiments, crafts, recreation, singing, and snack which are centered around a theme and Bible story for that night. Registration starts in June of every summer and is $5 per child. Check out summaries, video, and photos of previous VBS weeks at UPC and get ready for next summer!

VBS 2010- GALACTIC BLASTChildren had a Galactic Blast during last summer’s VBS trip into space. Children met in space bubbles, participated in interactive Bible stories, played space games, experimented with science, and made some great crafts to take home. The children also practiced music that they were able to perform on the last night of VBS before everyone, including parents, enjoyed ice cream sundaes. This year’s special friend Galileo the Gorilla was a big hit with all the kids and adults. Check out some photos and videos of Galactic Blast! The Best of Galileo none |
VBS 2009- CAMP E.D.G.E. In 2009, over fifty area children participated in Camp E.D.G.E at United Presbyterian Church. We transformed the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary into a picturesque mountain camp. Children were divided up into small groups like Red Fox and Black Bear and met in tents set up throughout the Fellowship Hall. They played games, sang songs, did crafts, and science experiments about Experiencing and Discovering God Everywhere. One of the highlights of the week was Sparks the Fox. All the children kept trying to “guess who” Sparks really was. While they may not have figured out who Sparks was, they all laughed. Check out photos and videos of VBS 2009!
